With its distinctive, traditional pork leg shape, this ham represents all the principles L’Artemano’s line: only carefully selected ingredients and traditional recipes. Lightly salted and slow steam cooked, its juicy slices melt in the mouth, releasing a hint of smokiness and a fragrance of spices.
On the bone hams are particularly good warm and knife-cut to reveal all their aroma and succulence. Hams with the shank lend themselves to cutting with a meat slicer, though not too finely, for a practical yet equally satisfying result. The smoked ham goes well with rye bread, aromatic horseradish and whole-grain Dijon mustard. It also lends itself to hearty dishes, in combination with ingredients such as smoked fillet, boiled new potatoes and fresh dill seasoning. We recommend it paired with a Colli Orientali del Friuli Schioppettino DOC red wine, or a Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi white wine.
